خواطر عن مصر والشرق الأوسط والتاريخ
خالد فهمي أستاذ تاريخ بالجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة، وأستاذ زائر بجامعة هارفارد بالولايات المتحدة. تشمل اهتماماته التاريخ الاجتماعي والثقافي للشرق الأوسط الحديث، مركزا على تاريخ القانون والطب والجيش والشرطة في مصر طوال القرن التاسع عشر. وبجانب مؤلفاته الأكاديمية له العديد من الكتابات الصحافية بالعربية والإنجليزية.

أنا لم أعصر على نفسى ليمونة فى الانتخابات الرئاسية، ولم أنتخب محمد مرسي رئيسا للجمهورية. أنا أبطلت صوتي فى تلك الانتخابات لإدراكي أن مصر تستحق أفضل من كل من مرسي وشفيق. ولكن عندما أعلنت النتيجة فرحت بها لنجاحنا فى إجراء أول انتخابات رئاسية حرة ونزيهة، واعتبرت أن محمد مرسي هو الرئيس الشرعي للبلاد، وفى مناسبات عديدة قلت إن اختلافي معه وعدم ثقتي فيه لا يعنى عدم اعترافي بشرعيته.

For months now, she has been insisting on a slanted reading of the political scene in Egypt, constantly letting the Muslim Brotherhood off the hook (in a bizarre move last week, she even visited Khayrat El-Shater, the strong man of the MB in his personal office), and giving erroneous accounts to John Kerry about the opposition to President Morsy. Leave a Commentنُشر فى “الشروق” في ٢١ يونيو ٢٠١٣ يحار المرء فى تفسير سياسات الرئيس والحكومة والإخوان فى الأيام القليلة الماضية. فى صفقة المحافظين الأخيرة أتفهم أن يتبع الرئيس مرسي سياسات الرئيس المخلوع فى أن يعطي المحافظات الحدودية لقيادات من الشرطة والجيش، بعد أن فشل دستور الإخوان فى ترسيخ قاعدة جديدة يُسمح فيها للشعب بأن يختار محافظيه لا أن تفرض عليه السلطة التنفيذية المحافظ الذى تختاره. وأتفهم أن يُعرض الرئيس عن الدعاوى التى نصحته بأن يعطي بعض المحافظات لغير المنتمين للتيار الإسلامى فى محاولة لامتصاص غضب الناس من الأخونة. وأتفهم أيضا أن يأخذ الرئيس برأي غلاة مكتب الإرشاد وأن يمد يده للجماعة…
Leave a Commentنُشر في “فيسبوك” في ١٩ يونيو ٢٠١٣ هذه هي السياسة الثقافية الرشيدة وهذا ما تفعله المتاحف المحترمة: لمدة عشر سنوات أغلق متحف رايكسميوسيام، أهم متحف في هولندا، وواحد من أهم متاحف العالم. أثناء هذه الفترة الطويلة (2003-2013) كانت أغلب قاعات المتحف مغلقة، ولكن كان بوسع الزائر أثناءها تفقد أهم مقتنيات المتحف في قاعات مؤقتة أعدت خصيصا حتى لا يغيب المتحف تماما عن الخريطة السياحية والثقافية لمدينة أمستردام. في أبريل من هذا العام قامت الملكة (قبل تنحيها لابنها وولي عهدها) بإعادة افتتاح المتحف الذي تكلفت عملية تجديده وإعادة تأهيله مبلغ ٢٧٥ مليون يورو. وبهذه المناسبة ولتشجيع الناس على زيارة المتحف وحثهم على التردد عليه، قامت…
